I wish more magical girl series were licensed, but the long ones need TV deals to make money and no station takes them…

This happened to Mermaid Meloedy as well. It was licensed and at least the first season of the series was dubbed (you can find a trailer on YouTube) but because they couldn’t get a TV deal, the license was dropped. At that point fansub groups had already stopped translating the series to avoid trouble, and nobody really picked it up again. And while some YouTube people try to sub them, it was never picked up again and that left the anime in this half translated / half REALLY BAD raw state. Such a shame… and another reason why I just tell people to read the manga.
But you know, just watching that English trailer makes me cringe (no really, I die everytime I stumble upon it) and I’m kinda glad that I never had to hear their attempts at translating the songs…
I’d still like a proper translation though ò_ó

I heard a preview of the English version of “Super Love Songs” and noped out the window, into the street, got hit by a truck, caught in the front grill, carried on it for 10 miles, peeled off by the side of the parkway, and was left to be eaten by the crows and possums.
As badly as I want MMPPP to be released in English at long last, I think it’s better off if ADV’s dub never sees the light of day.
